Manuscript notes for Les Deux Masques, a collection of critical essays on the theater (tragedy and comedy), including discussions of Aeschylus, Shakespeare, Euripides, Aristophanes and Racine. Also in this volume are notes concerning painting (Dürer, Michaelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci) and history. Notes of various sizes have been pasted onto leaves of a volume bound in vellum. Proofs for the book version of Les Deux Masques, consisting of slips from the periodical "Feuilleton de la Presse" pasted into a bound volume and annotated and corrected.
